About AEAL
Facilities
Lab Our lab is located at the Aquatic Biology and Environmental Science (ABES) building, near the UCD research fields and barns west of Highway 113. The ABES facility operates as the Center for Aquatic Biology and Aquaculture (CABA), and is responsible for the supervision and maintenance of equipment and 26,000 square feet of lab space occupied by UCD researchers and their study animals. Field gear is kept in our three 20’ storage containers, and our lab room is equipped for activities such as aquatic insect sample processing, specimen slide mounting, finfish dissections, flourometry, and lipid profile determination. Finfish husbandry space and equipment are provided by the ABES managment. Collaborating campus departments provide access to their facilities and specialized instruments to AEAL staff and students.
